(fatal fallacies from disordered minds)

The recent terror attack in Mumbai, India, illustrates how deadly fatal fallacies from disordered minds can be. In this instance, it may remind some of the nightmarish era immediately following independence, where similar manipulations of their society’s psyche for private ends, created massive, hysterical, rampages of mayhem and killing lust, whereby millions were slaughtered between Hindus and Moslems, and forced to leave what had formerly been their homes.

That sorry episode created what are today India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The ripples of that still surging today, particularly in Kashmir, where that long-standing Hindu-Moslem feud keeps the pot of hostility boiling. A dreary saga of mindless bloodshed for no really legitimate end. But since open military conflict is no longer a viable solution for either side (atomic weapons assuring mutual destruction should there be such a conflict), more extreme and virulent mindsets in Pakistan, seem to have opted for terror tactics instead. Mumbai is just the latest of such attacks.

But the difference this time, is the scope of that attack. Using a dozen young men as Borg-like automatons, these were carefully seduced, brain-washed, and trained as killing machines, then turned loose on Mumbai, to kill nearly several hundred people, and wounding as many more. All, with no apparent purpose other than to create as much mayhem, slaughter, and terror, as possible.

These young killers were of no consequence, in and of themselves. They were simply mindless pawns for an unseen and malevolent group determined to use them to achieve its own ends. All of which simply reflects how such disordered minds can take a religious viewpoint, distort it, and use it as a weapon just to accomplish their purpose. Such mindsets border on psychosis.

We can but hope that Indian, Pakistani, and other authorities will bring to light the true perpetrators of this criminal venture. That is, those that financed, organized, trained, and launched it. These are the ones that should be considered as nothing more than rabid dogs, and dealt with accordingly, to protect the rest of the world community. Such as these have forfeited any claim to humanity and should be summarily put down.
